Kean
Hird began his commercial real estate career in 1977 as a surveyor
with Hampton and Sons. He eventually became an investment broker and
advisor, before being appointed director of Townsend Thoresen
Properties PLC ("Townsend"), where he oversaw development in the UK
and Germany.
After the sale of Townsend, Mr. Hird became a founding shareholder and
director of Arbuthnot Properties, where he was responsible for the
group's investment and development activities in the UK and the U.S.
In
1986, Arbuthnot Properties reversed into Imry Holdings, a publicly
traded property company, and in 1992, Mr. Hird Participated in a
management buy-back financed by Barclays Bank.
In
1998, Kean became a director of Frame Investments, having held a
shareholding since 1989, and immediately formed a joint fund with
Prudential of America, which initially acquired a £120 million
portfolio of commercial real estate in England.
Frame over the ensuing years has invested in a number of projects in
the UK and Europe. In early 2000/2003 Mr Hird held a number of
directorships in a non executive advisory capacity including the
former state body Mid-Kent Water Authority. More lately he has an
affiliated partner status with Catalyst Capital, with which Frame has
a number of co investments in Poland, Germany and Hungary.
